New Fall Bible Studies starting the week of September 25th!
Men usually find their friendships by doing things together. Whether it is in the style of The Band of Brothers, Remember the Titans, or The Fellowship of the Ring, men find community and brotherhood through shared experiences and affinities, hobbies, and challenges. At Trinity this fall, one way we will pursue a common desire to be mature men lacking in nothing (James 1:2-4) is to join together and study the book of Judges. Our hope is to forge bonds that encourage us, support us, and allow us to share victories and struggles together.
One writer comments on Judges, “The church in (general) has a problem with the book of Judges. It is so earthy, so puzzling, so primitive, so violent—in a word, so strange, that the church can barely stomach it…only people who take tranquilizers before sitting down can doze off while they read it.”
To a people longing for a leader, Judges will remind us of the importance of following our God, the adventures and challenges that await those who trust Him, and the hope we have in the return of the True King.
