James zion
James grew up a farm boy in Western Washington, under the shadow of Mt. St. Helens. He graduated from Western Washington University, where he studied psychology, math, and environmental economics. He was heavily involved in campus ministry while there, and lived in the freshman dorms leading small groups for three years. During that time, he also became involved with Royal Family Kids Camp, a Christian organization serving kids who have suffered severe trauma. After college, he spent 12 years as an educational consultant, and traveled to all 50 states and many countries, chasing the Tour de France, and running with the bulls in Pamplona.
He married Rebecca in 2007, and they have four beautiful kids. In 2014, they bought a property north of Seattle and spent the following seven years restoring their 100-year-old farmhouse, raising various types of small livestock, home dairying, and growing an enormous vegetable garden that together provided about 80% of the family’s annual diet. James has served as a deacon in previous churches, and he and Rebecca ran a ministry providing date nights and training for foster families for several years. In 2022, they sold their farm and moved to Owasso to be near family and spend more time with their kids. James enjoys punk and country music, outdoor adventuring, problem solving, reading, and chilling with family and friends. He currently works in IT sales, serving aerospace and defense contractors.
