OPENING WORDS

Psalm 33:1-4, 11-12

¹ Shout for joy in the Lord, O you righteous!
    Praise befits the upright.
² Give thanks to the Lord with the lyre;
    make melody to him with the harp of ten strings!
³ Sing to him a new song;
    play skillfully on the strings, with loud shouts.

⁴ For the word of the Lord is upright,
    and all his work is done in faithfulness.

¹¹ The counsel of the Lord stands forever,
    the plans of his heart to all generations.
¹² Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord,
    the people whom he has chosen as his heritage!

INTRODUCTION

Although the RISE campaign will last only a few weeks, the generational impact of such an undertaking is untold. While a church building is not the church per se, it does serve as an institutional reminder of the gospel and an opportunity for blessing future generations. Today, pray along these lines.

PRAYER

1. For current and future generations to be influenced by the gospel through the ministry and physical presence of Trinity.
2. For covenant children current and future to know Christ—from cradle to grave—and for Trinity to serve as an ever-present reminder of Christ’s grace to them.
3. For Trinity’s building never to be merely a building, but a place to celebrate each generation’s milestones: from baptism and the Lord’s supper, to marriage and family, to retirement and death in the Lord.
