Invite Others to Good Friday and Easter
Any discomfort with the oddity of watching worship online doesn't need to interfere with the excitement and celebration of the resurrection of our Lord!
Good Friday and Easter are my favorite services of the year. The weight of responsibility I feel for my sin on Friday night, somberly reflecting on my participation in Christ's crucifixion stays with me until the glories of sunrise on Easter Sunday when we celebrate Christ's victory over sin and death for us. Celebrating with our screens on will add something to this weekend that no doubt seems weird, doesn't it? Yet, any discomfort with the oddity of watching worship online doesn't need to interfere with the excitement and celebration of the resurrection of our Lord! I'm excited for what Good Friday and Easter hold for us this year.
Easter remains the best time to invite people to Trinity. Take a moment to invite a neighbor to watch us online (Sunday, 10am, watch.trinityowasso.com). Set up watch parties on YouTube or FB with friends or extended family.
- Good Friday, Friday night, 7p (watch.trinityowasso.com)
- Easter, Sunday, 10a (watch.trinityowasso.com)
And if you're searching for a way to make Easter special, get up early to watch the Sunrise and read read Mathew 28:1-10 as a family. Pronounce, "He is risen!" and respond with "He is risen indeed!"
Consider these ideas from a sister church in Acts 29 as other potential ways to complement your time of worship with Trinity this Sunday.
I look foward to seeing you at worship for Good Friday, Friday night at 7p, and Easter, Sunday at 10am.
Grace changes everything,
Blake
